This parabolic solar cooker from Germany is used in more than 90 countries around the world. El Solito is fun to use, and will amaze you with its ability to turn sunlight into work cooking food.
The 1m parabolic reflector focuses all the sunlight that falls on its surface on a single focal point, deep within the volume of the dish where the pot holder is located. The power output of the cooker on a clear sunny day is not less than 450 watts.
Because of the focused light of the sun, very high temperatures can be achieved with parabolic cookers, allowing you to grill meats, deep fry, and do any other stove top type cooking. Baking can also be done.
The constant power of the sun at the focus point means that cook times for doing things like grilling a steak, sausage, frying and other stove top cooking are about the same as on a regular stove. High temperature applications such as grilling and frying need full sun to be effective. Cooking dishes in a pot such as rice, stews, baking cakes etc. can be done effectively with intermittent clouds.
The El Solito comes disassembled in a kit with complete assembly instructions and tools. Recipes are also included.
The reflectors are made of highly polished reflective aluminum, which is weather proof and protected against salt degradation. The support structure is made of galvanized steel. Packing dimensions are 1250 x 160 x 30 mm and weighs 9 kg. |
