El Sol Parabolic Solar Barbeque C $650.00

This large parabolic solar cooker from Germany is used in more than 90 countries around the world. The El Sol is suitable for a family or small restaurant business, as it can cook food for up to 12 people at a time.

The 1.4m parabolic reflector focuses all the sunlight that falls on its surface on a single focal point, deep within the volume of the dish where the pot holder is located. The power output of the cooker on a clear sunny day is not less than 690 watts. Three liters of water can be brought to boil in 25 minutes.

Because of the focused light of the sun, very high temperatures can be achieved with parabolic cookers, allowing you to grill meats, deep fry, and do any other stove top type cooking. Baking can also be done.

The constant power of the sun at the focus point means that cook times for doing things like grilling a steak, sausage, frying and other stove top cooking are about the same as on a regular stove. High temperature applications such as grilling and frying need full sun to be effective. Cooking dishes in a pot such as rice, stews, baking cakes etc. can be done effectively with intermittent clouds.

The El Sol comes disassembled in a kit with complete assembly instructions and tools. Recipes are also included.

The reflectors are made of highly polished reflective aluminum, which is weather proof and protected against salt degradation. The support structure is made from durable extruded aluminum. Packing dimensions are 117 x 55 x 10 mm, and weighs 15 kg.
